I know it's nice to say things like this, but with summer coming around, I was thining about how dreadful it is to see people with ugly feet and toes wearing flip flops. Especially when they have yellow crusty toe nails, and cracked feet. What's worse? Hairy toes! Am I alone in this?

Yes!!! Misshapen toes, toes that are long like fingers (particular hate - like a horror film!), toes and heels that haven't been looked after, horny nails, chipped nail polish, long nails, veins and tendons standing out ... the list goes on!

Really, in the "big picture" of things, one's perception of ugly feet isn't that important.
Try to remember that: Some people just don't know about foot grooming, genetics are a factor in foot/toe shape and can't be helped, there may be circumstances in their lives where taking care of their feet isn't a priority at the time.
It might be of interest that, in the olden days, having a a second toe longer than the first toe was considered a sign of royalty.
If you don't like it, don't look at it. You'll be judged the way you judge others.

Yes, I did put on nail polish on my underwear when I wore my regular Old Navy Flip-Flops! My nail polish is white only! I have worn my blue jean ugly shorts when I cut my pants or denim capris. I felt bad girl! I have worn my blue jean shorts and regular light %26amp; dark blue Old Navy Flip-Flops and because I put on nail polish on my underwear before go to Youth Center Summer Camp everyday.

I work at a certain sandwich shop in S. California and alot of girls come in wearing flip flops. So somtimes when I'm bored I'll go and check out cute girls wearing flip flops, toe rings and painted nails. So I was just wondering what your reaction would be if you noticed me doing this?

This is supposed to stop sweating for up to 6 weeks at a time. It stings when you use it but once you are used to it I guess its not that bad by what my uncle told me (he uses it with great success). Your underams will be red when first using it until you get used to it. But once you get through the treatments it will go back normal after some days. My uncle said this is the best thing he has ever tried as it stops his excessive sweating (he even sweat a lot during winter when it was snowing)

Soft rubber looks very appealing, only thing is with feet that sweat a lot they tend to slip off, even if they have air holes. The material I found good is hard rubber with ruffles. How about suede or straw? Do you have any preference for a material for a footbed on flip flops??

They are the same flip flops they've always carried, but in order to make them "different" from season to season, they might alter the logo slightly, or change the pattern on the rubber strap across the foot... but they are the same. The colors will also slightly change from year to year. And they are NOT $15. The basic flip flops are 2 for $5.00 (this is not a sale price - this is the regular price) - the women's dept. just got lots of great colors in :-)

I would like some opinions on the new design of Old Navy flip-flops.?
"New design" meaning what? They are the same flip flops they've always carried, but in order to make them "different" from season to season, they might alter the logo slightly, or change the pattern on the rubber strap across the foot... but they are the same. The colors will also slightly change from year to year. And they are NOT $15. The basic flip flops are 2 for $5.00 (this is not a sale price - this is the regular price) - the women's dept. just got lots of great colors in :-)

Why do some people think it's a good idea to ride a bike wearing flip-flops??
I frequently see adults bicycling in flip-flops. I can't think of a worse shoe for bicycling. There's no grip on the bottom to keep your foot on the pedal, and even if it grips, your foot could slip right out of the shoe. The flip-flop wearers usually aren't wearing helmets either.

There's less bias against bare feet, no signs on stores and such at all, and people generally believe barefooting is healthy... but for some reason they still don't usually do it themselves. I'm usually the only barefooter even in a nice grassy park on a summer day.

We were at a church picnic last summer and my kids just had their flip flops on. They had a bunch of games like sack races, tug-o-war, volleyball, Frisbee, etc.
Would it have been better to let them play wearing their flip flops and risk twisting an ankle or should I have let them just play in their bare feet? The park looked fairly clean, but you never really know what is on the ground. My kids are 5 and 9.
(I'll tell you what my wife and I did after I get everyone's input.)

Don't underestimate the functionality of a good strong pair of feet. Let the kids go barefoot as often as they like.

The reason I ask I like to wear like to wear them out, My foot measures 10 1/2" in length and wear like 9 1/2 in boots and 10 in gym shoes. The flip flops a size 9 mens reef for atleast 5 years and have grown out of them. They fit my girlfriend well who wears a 10-11. A couple of her friends alway joke about my shoe size? Women when you see a guy do measure them up.

I just got athlete's foot, should I throw out my flip flops?
I literally just got symptoms of athletes foot today. I wore the flip flops for about 3 hours. Should I throw them out or should I be okay?

Just wash them in the washer in hot water. They will be fine. It is a fungal infection that cannot live on dry flip flops. It likes the toes and feet because it is warm and moist.
Reply:Keep them outside tonight and spray them with lysol they should be alright -
Reply:Just spray them with an antibacterial like lysol. Let them sit in the sun. If your feet are experiencing a problem, use desitin or some other athletes foot cream. You might have just observed the symptoms today, but it usually is something that develops over at least a little bit of time. I'd clean out the shower and spray or mop the bathroom floors as well.
Reply:Are you sure it's athlete's foot? I mean, have you already used an anti-fungal and it's already helped?
In order to be sure what's wrong, you have to separate your feet from the flip-flops and also from athlete's foot fungus. If you were about to get it, the flip-flops wouldn't matter. I suppose you're thinking that the flip-flops gave it to you.
If that's the case, treat the feet and disinfect the shoes. You can use a bleach solution if they're bleachable, or you can use a disinfectant cleaner (I mean, if they're like, foam soles. If they're washable.)
But if you got it...you need to treat all the surfaces you can--disinfect the bathroom floor, the shower floor, whatever your feet touched to get the fungus.
But if it's not really athlete's foot and it's merely an unsuitable pair of shoes that make your feet all hot and itchy, then, yeah, toss the shoes. Tough-actin' Tinactin won't cure a bad pair of shoes.
Reply:Go to a pharmacy and ask for the bottle of the pink surgeons soap (what they use in hospitals). Scrub your feet and sandles with it. Works in a snap! and imediatly takes away the itch and irritation from you feet.

I was browsing at Hobby Lobby yesterday and noticed that they were yet another store that sold flip flops. They were sold in plain solid colors. I was wondering if anyone buys buys these from a craft store and what you do with them?

Target is one of many retail stores who practice selling inexpensive items that look like the expensive brands.

What is the best and easiest way to clean my flip flops?
They're just your regular old navy flip flops and because they're white, they've gotten really dirty.
Should I just stick them in the washing machine or is there a simpler way?

the very best way to keep your white flip flops actually white is to buy a Mr. Clean magic eraser. all you have to do is scrub and your shoes look brand new. when i did this i bought the Mr. Clean eraser that foamed (you have to wet it with water) this is a quick way to get amazing results and it s also really cheap

Reply:take DAWN dish soap.. and a two sided sponge (one with a rough side) and put the DAWN dish sope on the rough side of sponge and scrub. ((just like if u were doing dishes)) i got you a pick of the sponge. you can get them at the dollar store.

My Horse Stepped on my Foot, and I just had flip flops on...?
On September 16th, my horse stepped on my foot. I guess I shouldn't have been trying to worm him with flip flops on... lol! But anyway, my foot is still very sore, 10 days later. I can not wear very many of my shoes and I cannot sit Indian style because it puts pressure on it and it hurts really bad. The bone that is on the outter side on the top of my foot is up hire now. Like, I can feel it, but I can't I don't feel that bone on my other foot. If anyone has any idea what might be wrong, please let me know. Or what I can do to make the pain stop.

Ok i know this happens to everyone with sandals and flip flops?
how do i clean the dirt footprints my feet leave after i wear the flip flops for a few days. im not dirty or anything actually on the contrary im very clean and always take great care of myself and my kids..i tend to go overboard sometimes but it really bothers me when i take the sandals off at someones house and you can see my dirty footprint in the shoe!! what do you guys do...just let it go or throw them in the was? which ive done and it still never gets it really clean since the dirt of course is embedded in there..

This happens to me too. Put a little soap on a toothbrush and wet the sandals then scrub on the dirt foot marks. It works and then let them dry. If you get them dirty all the time, you may have to do this often. I reccomend getting black flip flops so the dirt doesn't show so much. Hope I can help.

Why does my cat love to rub,give affection and play with my flip flops?
I have a cat that I recently adopted off the streets. Every time I leave my flip flops in her designated area she loves to rub, lay, play, give affection and wrap herself in my flip flops. Its not any other item that she does this too. Can anyone explain this crazy behavior to me?
