Remember back five or six years ago when a woman wore flip flops on a White House tour and everyone called her

"Trailor Trash" and otherwise derided her for dressing down on a visit to the White House (i think she might have even met the President).





Now, however, Flip Flops are some kind of fashion statement, and no one would even have looked twice at her foot adornments.





Isn't' this weird?

It wasn't a woman in flip-flops, it was the Northwestern University women's Lacrosse team. And the word is spelled "trailer".
Reply:I agree with Cranky Yankee, you've got the story totally wrong. And flip flops are not a fashion statement. They are not good for your feet and they are still beach wear. They are not proper foot wear and in the proper etiquette you must wear proper SANDALS. Flip flops are BEACH WEAR. They are not meant to meet the President or anyone else unless you are going to the beach. They are bad for you feet health wise and should be replaced by proper sandals unless you are going to the beach. This is the etiquette section and I am answering this question as such!!!
Reply:Don't know....but I follow my own fashion....and that includes realizing the whole world isn't a playground, and there are certain times when you need to dress up a bit and show some respect.
Reply:I dont care for the way they look on people. A nice pair of sandals looks better.
