Flip-flops at work...yes or no?

Pretty normal office environment

Flip-flops at work...yes or no?
no. you want to get ahead at work and get promoted; don't waste your time with high fashion they're not paying you to wear. dress strategically at work; mimic the way that HR dresses; they're typically the best dressed in the building. study the way the important people from corporate do when they visit the office. the more casual you dress at work, the more casual your job will be. you don't want to do that; you want a challenging job that you have to struggle to keep because that is the type of environment in which you can truly get ahead.
Reply:no i really dont think they are appropriate
Reply:NO WAY
Reply:no!!!!!
Reply:big fat no
Reply:I don't see how if you're sitting at your desk that flip flops would be an issue. I have never once had a customer ask what shoes I had on in order to provide customer service.

Other open toe shoes seem to be fine. Not sure what it is about a piece going BETWEEN two toes that makes it so much more "unprofessional" than ones with a band over your foot?

There's tons of women - and some guys (like myself) who have their shoes off under their desk all the time. What's the difference between a flip flop - and a sandal with two thin straps across your foot that you have off when you stand or sit.

When I get promoted, I want to have a rule that states "All noisy shoes must be removed or you go home". This would include heels that clack just as loud as flip flops. I'd rather someone be barefoot than listen to "Clack CLACK Clack CLACK" every time someone walks past me.
Reply:weariNg flip flops is a big NO in the office..=) it might create a very bad impression on you..you will look very unprofessional..=) instead, you can wear a nice pair of flats oR stilleto pumps..voila!!you'll look stunning and very professional..=)
Reply:no!!!!
Reply:no way unless they are the dressier sandals with a heel
Reply:NEVER in an OFFICE!!!!!!!!!
Reply:flip flops are not professional and if seen the person wearing them should be fired because it should be against the dress code.
Reply:unless you dont want feet, or at least pretty ones, HELL NO!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Flip flops at work do not work. It is kinda unprofessional. Please help answer my questions : )
Reply:No I think that they are very unprofessional
Reply:I would also say no. Dressy and conservative sandals would be alright but flip flops...no
Reply:depends if they're the old navy flip flops or nice like $25 flip flops
Reply:DEFINATELY NOT MY LAST JOB I GOT FIRED FOR WEARING FLIP FLOPS
Reply:Absolutely not. I'm willing to bet your office has a dress code, even the most casual work places do, that prohibits flip-flops. You should check with your supervisor or HR department for a dress code before wearing anything like this. My current office won't even allow open-toed shoes of any kind.
Reply:No!
Reply:Eh, depends where you work. My job was business casual and I would try to pair flip flops with a skirt and blouse. Some managers didn't mind but most did. I'm going to say no to flip flops unless it's casual Friday.
Reply:No it is very unprofessional!
