What's a good argument to convince my stepdad to let me wear flip flops to school?

I need a good argument because my stepdad thinks flip flops are trashy and I'm really sick of wearing sneakers to school!

Reply:buy your own flip flops. That way...you can say that you bought them therefore you should be able to wear them.

Reply:There really isn't one. In fact a number of schools ban flip flops in their dress codes. But then I think they are way to casual for school or work.
Reply:Your school may not allow them first of all. Then, you need more on your feet for protection. I had a large can of tomato juice fall on my big toe and have been careful to protect my feet ever since. You should also.
Reply:The only good argument is that you want to keep your feet dry so you don't get athlete's foot.





Forget it. Wear the sneakers. It's much safer to wear shoes in school or in the workplace. Imagine getting your foot stepped on "accidentally." Would you rather be wearing shoes, or flip-flops?
Reply:tell him your shoes are giving you fungus cause its to hot and your feet are getting sweaty or just buy some new ones leave at the school or with a friend and where them when you get to school
Reply:I know the schools in Ca dont allow flip flops because u can get hurt now if u are talking about summer school tell him its too hot for sneakers ask him nicely please
Reply:He might be thinking they are unsafe--and I would have to agree with him on that. Also, these days as schools are "very concerned" about making rules that take into account "possible" disruptions to the learning process, it won't surprise me if the school classifices FlipFlops as a "no no" item to wear.

Reply:There are a lot of really cute, nice flip flops out there now, so many of them can be quite nice looking. Maybe find some nice styles online and try showing them to your dad.
Reply:flip flops are usually not allowed in schools. They are flat and uncomfortable most of the time. And besides, if you do PE, you need sneakers or tennies. What your parents say, goes.
Reply:put your flip flops in your back pack and keep them in your locker at school and won't have any idea or have your friends take them to school for u if your stepdad looks through your back pack. Flip flops r only trashy if u wear them with minis other wise they're not that bad
Reply:If you really really want to wear your reg shoes and stick your flip flops in your back pack/ locker... or join waterpolo and say that it easy for you or that everyone else wears them.... but i also think it violates the dress code it could be a hazard
