McCain flip flops again, but which idea should he follow?

McCain is being attacked by Democrats for flip flopping when it comes to Hamas and having talks with Hamas. Democrats said McCain was quoted as saying: "They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them..." So at one point, he wanted to talk to them and now says he doesn't. Which action is correct? Should there be a line of communication open between us and Hamas? Or should we follow the policy of less talk and more action?

By continually flip flopping McCain will keep his supporters as well as his detractors off balance. In this way, he can capture the votes on both sides of the divide. The more confused the voters are, the more likely they will vote for him. (people will believe what ever part of what he says that they want to believe)

I don't really think McCain has a winning strategy here, but that apparently must be his strategy. Or else, McCain is the one who is confused.
Reply:The question could have been asked in a different way. You can see the political answers this is attracting.

Regardless of the President, I believe in communication with allies, and with enemies. So whatever Hamas is, we should keep the lines open with them. What happens to a relationship when one party decides to cut off communication? I think a lot of unnecessary divorces happen that way.
Reply:seeing as how he doesn't know the differences between the shiites %26amp; sunnis, he probably thought that 'hamas' was a delicious chick-pea spread that he sometimes eats with garlic on a pita...

...but I'm still not sure if he has alzheimer's disease or if he's just a normal conservative, constantly flip-flopping and contradicting himself...hard to tell these days!
Reply:How would McCain ever know that they gave up terrorist ways and would talk peace with Israel unless he talks to them. That is hypocrisy in itself! The Republicans are trying to revitalize the Crusades and cause World War III!

Democrats against the New Crusades!
Reply:Even he doesn't know because he probably doesn't remember what he said!!

He's 71 and showing signs of Reagan in his last days in office.
Reply:He will follow whatever makes him look good that day.

He is more of a pander than a flip flopper.
Reply:I know, he said he would not wear one of those US flag lapel pins and now he wears one

Oh wait, wrong hypocrite
