Flip flops to work??

Good or bad Idea??? the nice ones of course-not the p-lastic/foam ones

Flip flops to work??
If it is supposed to be a professional setting then absolutely not. If people look like slobs then they work like slobs. Who will get promoted, the person that looks like they should be at the beach everyday or the person dressed up? Presentation does matter even though you probably think that this is some great injustice that has been bestowed upon you.
Reply:good idea gurl
Reply:The best idea ever.... I wear flip flops (Reef's) to work everyday. I couldn't imagine not being able to wear them to work..
Reply:Hell no, flip flops are flip flops. Flat or high heeled, they're inappropriate for the office. Please, don't get fired because even some of the most laidback jobs have a dress code policy specifically stating no flipflops. Well, only unless you work at Walmart, then you can get away with them.
Reply:Depends on where you work. If your workplace requires professional attire, then don't.
Reply:If they are well made and comfortable, you could probably wear them to most jobs. If you work in an office environment where most men are wearing suits and ties, I would advise against it.

I am all about comfort, so I wear them all the time. I am a Realtor. I can do a lot of my business in flip flops -- dropping off contracts, showing houses, etc., but I would never show up to a closing like that!
Reply:No. Anyone with class and manners will say that flip flops are NOT okay for work. Wear slip on sandals instead. They can be just as comfy.
Reply:Depends on what kind of job you have. It's not very professional.
Reply:no flip flops to work!!!
Reply:I think this is a bad idea.Flip Flops are not good for any kind of work. I agree comfort is a welcome asset for your feet but you should always have something that is secure to your whole foot. This will help with not losing your shoe when going up or down stairs r even twisting your ankle. I think that most employers would tell you that flip flops are not allowed due to compensation and company insurance policies.
Reply:It depends where you work at
Reply:It depends on where you work. If you have a manual read that. If you can then don't make...what I call the flip flop noise.
Reply:sure.
Reply:In my handbook, flip flops are off limits, deemed inappropriate. Except of course for casual Fridays :)
Reply:You could just wear them to work and then once you get to work put on some heels :DDD
Reply:Only if it's allowed at your work. If it's against the dress policy then no you shouldn't, if it's ok then go for it. I would if I could.
Reply:i have not worn shoes in 6 moths i wear mine to school and work.
Reply:Good idea. Quality and style is all that counts at work, but most especially remember COMFORT. If you're up on your feel all of the time, it may be the best idea to look into nice flip flops.
Reply:Depends on the rest of your attire - flip flops with a skirt suit, nah.

They keep your feet cool but the flip noises get on my nerves a bit %26amp; I wear flip flops whilst walking to work but when I get to work my feet are black, it's quite gross.... :-(

Good job we have showers in the hospital :-)
Reply:I would say it would have to depend on the place you work? Obviously, you don't want to wear flip-flops if you are a zoo keeper or dental assistant. If you work in an office setting, you would want to maintain a professional appearance so even the nice flip flops probably wouldn't go with a blazer. If the setting is laid back, casual and safe, then flip flops should be fine. I know that living in the southwest where it commonly gets up to 115, flip flops are near standard for everyone.
Reply:Bad. too casual.
Reply:Depends on where you work. They're comfy, but it gets annoying listening to all the "flopping" when people walk by!
Reply:good idea
Reply:i wear them all the time, and i'm an office assistant at a water truck rental and sale company, it all depends company
Reply:depends on the job and the company you're in. seeing that they're a fashion item i guess you could get away with really good, expensive (or expensive looking) flip flops anywhere. to wear the good old plastic ones to work i'f say it would have to be a fairly laid back place about clothes...
Reply:Good idea, I wear them everyday and I work in an office where the dress is business casual and I get compliments on them all the time♥
Reply:Bad idea. They look too much like house slippers. You wouldn't wear high heels to mop the kitchen floor.
Reply:We keep getting this question. If I saw you wearing flip flops to work - I would accidentally step on the back as soon as you got to the top of the stairs heading down. Flip flops are not formal or work attire and will not be tolerated. If I were the boss, I would fire you on the spot for a safety violation.
Reply:They are not allowed in my office. Too bad. Cool feet make for a cool head.
Reply:Good, just make sure your toes are done.
Reply:DEPENDS WHERE YOU WORK. IF YOU'RE AN ACCOUNTANT THEN THAT WOULDN'T LOOK VERY PROFESSIONAL. IF YOU WORK AT A DEPARTMENT STORE THEN GO AHEAD.
