I am going to my cousin's friend's wedding. Since the wedding will be in July, can i wear flip flops?

to the wedding, or should i wear a shoe with a heel? The flip flops i would be wearing are brown and shiny with gold sequins on them.

I am going to my cousin's friend's wedding. Since the wedding will be in July, can i wear flip flops?
Well I wore silver flip flops at my best friends wedding and I was the matron of honor...of course I was 8 months pregnant and it was outside in August....

I think as long as you look nice you'll do fine. I wouldn't wear Old Navy flip flops to this event, but they have some very nice flip flops out there.

Plus, if you wear something that you're more comfortable in, you'll be more focused on having fun and creating memories. People are going to remember you starting the bunny hop not what shoes you wore.
Reply:What's wrong with sandals?

Nicer than flip flops and open.
Reply:So why can't you wear open toe shoes. Go buy a pair, don't disrespect her. You wouldn't want someone else to do it to your wedding, so you shouldn't do the same.
Reply:Now if the event would be like at open space like in the beach or your like The Bahamas or Hawaii yes is OK I recommend and if is not there in any those places NO it's not appropriate for a wedding
Reply:NO - flats are ok, as long as they go with your beautiful cocktail dress.
Reply:i love wearing flip flops, but I would suggest only wearing them to a wedding if it's on the beach. What I am doing for my wedding is telling people bring flip flops to the reception, so they can take off their nice shoes and dance in flip flops. I even bought flip flops for my bridesmaids and flowergirls to wear. I would suggest wearing nice shoes, and later on bring flip flops to dance in.
Reply:I would say no (unless the wedding's on the beach, then maybe it's an alternative). Wear a nice sandal. Flip flops are too casual for a wedding.
Reply:I would say ask your cousin about the venue of the wedding. If its a beach wedding go for it, if not then it may be best to go with another option. You could always do a cute heeled sandal or something comfortable but chic.
Reply:I wouldn't wear flip-flops. I think normal sandals are OK, but personally don't think flip-flops are nice enough to wear to a wedding no matter how embellished they are. You don't necessarily have to wear a heal, but a sandal would be better.
Reply:Places flip flops should never be worn:

Weddings

Church

Court

Work (office)
Reply:If it's on a beach or other outdoor location, fine. If any part of it is indoors, flip flops are not acceptable - they're too casual.
Reply:Flip flops are not appropriate for a wedding--they're fine for the grocery store, beach, vacation or other informal occasions.
Reply:I think if the flip flops match your dress go for it. NO BODY is going to remember what shoes you wear.
Reply:That depends on if the wedding is indoors or outdoors. I would say, if outdoors, as long as they go with the rest of your outfit, and as long as you're wearing a skirt or dress, go for it. If the wedding is indoors take into consideration how "upscale" a place it is. If they're getting married in a more casual environment it's still not a problem, but if it's a more "fancy" place (including large cathedrals) you probably should wear closed toe shoes or dress sandals.
Reply:I'd say yes. But try to keep the "wedding" style in it to.
Reply:no just wear really nice sandals that look good with whatever else you're wearing. beacause even though it is July, it is still a wedding and flip-flops wouldn't look right.
Reply:If the wedding is in a barn or hay field then wear what you want. If its around up tight people and city folk better dress to impress.
Reply:Wear a shoe with a heel.

flip flops (even fancy ones) are too casual.
Reply:No, no, no! That is way too casual for a wedding. Give your cousin the respect you would want for your own special day and get dressed up. A cute open toed kitten heel would be just as comfy, only dressier. Looks cuter too!
Reply:What NOT to wear to a wedding and/or reception.

Flip flops

Blue jeans

Halter tops or bare midrift tops

Bib overalls

Military clothing

Bowling shirts

Cargo pants

Advertising or message T-shirts

Reply:It´s amazing how many brides wear flip flops under their dress, and no one tells them not to.

If the wedding is in a church, I would say no, wear a respectable heel, but if not, go for it. It sounds like these are not your average flip flops.
Reply:Good luck to your cousins freind, remember this the is a slogan that says a sinlgle lady gets the man at the wedding make sure you the best not forgetting that its winter try to get the very best design on winter wear.
Reply:I honestly don't think flip flops would be appropriate. If you wanted something similar, try a thong sandal with a slight heel.
Reply:If you wear flip flops at least wear some with heels.
