Can you wash flip-flops in the washer?

These are just the plain rubbery flip-flps from Old Navy, no jewels or decorations on them. I was thinking maybe on the delicate cycle with warm water and a little detergent. Has anyone done this before? Would you recommend doing it? Thanks!

yeah
Reply:I bought this bag in the grocery store, usually where they sell detergents, ironing board covers etc.and you can use it, for nylons, underwear etc.the material is such that the water and soap are able to get through, and the things don't take a beating in the washer.

I have done flip flops in the washer, but it is probably better, to take a brush and sudsy water and give them a good rinse.
Reply:im not sure if you could use the washer, but if you just take some bleach or cleaner and spray them on your flip flops, just wipe them with a paper towel and they should be clean
Reply:Here is my best tip for cleaning flip flops. My sister bought flops in every color from Old Navy and this trick made them look brand new.

Make a paste with Biz powdered laundry booster and water. Smear it all over the flops and let them sit for a bit, then use a sponge to rub them a bit. Rinse well and they are good as new! Oh, and wear gloves because the Biz can be a bit rough on your hands.
Reply:I wouldn't put them in the washing machine. More than likely, they would get torn up. Granted they don't cost that much, but who wants to replace them if you don't have to?

You can wash them at the kitchen sink with any kind of soap. I use dish detergent on mine, and it works very well.
Reply:I don't think those flip flops can withstand the water pressure. They'd probably be raggedly when you took them out the washing machine. I would hand wash the flip-flops with washing detergent and a small amount of bleach.
Reply:Yes, I was my kids crocs and flip flops in the washer all of the time. You know how dirty they can get.
Reply:make sure you are using the delicate or gentle wash so you don't damage the flipflops or the washer
Reply:Nah, i would just hit them with the hose or a pressure washer :-)
