What is better to wear with a wedding dress..flip flops or ballet slippers?

My fiance is almost exactly as tall as I am, so I don't want to wear heels. I've heard that flip flops are acceptable (not from my mom...she is appalled). I've also heard of brides wearing ballet slippers.

What is better to wear with a wedding dress..flip flops or ballet slippers?
Ballet flats. Ew...don't wear flip flops. Please.
Reply:When my cousin got married, his wife wore ballet slippers for the party afterwards. I've most commonly heard ballet slippers.
Reply:i'd say ballet slippers, flip-flops are really unproper for a wedding- unless it was on a beach, thats changes everything.

lol
Reply:Dear god I'm with your mom. Flip flops are ridiculous. You'll spend how much on your dress and then wear flip flops-I think not! My husband is about the same height as I am and I wore heels-you'll have to get over the height thing at some point. A pair of kitten heels would even be lovely. I really think that a wedding dress deserves a formal shoe.
Reply:I like your mom am also appalled that you would consider wearing flip flops to your wedding. Please dont, go with the ballet slippers, so much more classy, I can just imagine the flip flops slapping your foot and making noise as you walk down the isle, wouldnt be cute at all
Reply:NOT flip flops!

you'll risk getting your dress stuck between your shoes and tripping!

ballet slippers or white flats are acceptable so long as the dress covers them :)
Reply:I was in the same situation. Of course you don't wear flipflops. Just find yourself a nice pair of flats, they can be ballet style if that's what you want.

I found a nice pair of flat slingbacks, which were comfy and cheap too. They were nice and dressy.
Reply:you can find some low heel or no heel nice stylish shoes. Dont wear those you mentioned.
Reply:ballet slippers, much classier.
Reply:ballet slippers

congrats =)
Reply:Haha my aunt wore tennis shoes! No one knew!

I think that if no one can see, go with whatever you like more.

But if people are going to see them, definitely ballet slippers.
Reply:ballet slippers would be much classier, that's for sure
Reply:there are some beautiful flat shoes out there, keep on shopping you will find them
Reply:There are a lot of shoes that look like ballet slippers -- and they'd be comfortable too (believe me, you'll appreciate the comfort) -- I'd go with them.....
Reply:Please keep in mind that there are some shoes that are about 1/2 an inch or so but please dont wear sandles or flats, even if you are taller than he is. Its not acceptable and besides.. its your special day!
Reply:I put on flip flops after the ceremony... I have to admit there is one picture of me dancing where you can see my feet and its not that great looking! But you couldn't see them other than that though and my feet were not hurting! I think that ballet slippers would look nicer.
Reply:ballets
Reply:I would go with whatever is most comfy for you. Ballet slippers will be a bit more dressy than flip flops, but other than when you hold the dress up to walk stairs/steps your shoes probably won't show anyway.

Any appropriately colored flats will do.
Reply:Flip flops belong on the beach. Go with the ballet slippers (find a good pair with support because you'll be on your feet all day)
Reply:Your mom is right to be appaled! Flips flops are for hte beach or poolside only! They are not appropriate for a formal wedding gown.
Reply:I actually wore heels during the ceremony bc of the height difference but when I got to the reception I changed them. Instead of ballet slippers or flipflops I actually just bought some white close toe flats. The ballet slippers were like $40 and I had already spent $60 on my wedding shoes so the flats were only $20 and I can still wear them everyday. But definitely ballet slippers instead of flip flops. Flip flops are kind of tacky but ballet slippers are growing more common everyday. Good luck!
Reply:Ballet flats are my preference, but you could do strappy sandals rather than flip flops.

I'm in your exact situation...and I'm going w/ flats for the ceremony %26amp; slippers for the receptions myself....it's about comfort too. :))
Reply:flips flops would be okay if you were on the beach or at a tropical location. but overall ballet slippers are nicer and would look better.

yet it's your wedding. so you should do what you want.
Reply:I think some ballet slippers are so pretty!

but if you have a long dress what does it matter? wear whatever is more comfortable to you.
Reply:ballet slippers!!!

i would NEVER wear flip flops on my wedding.
Reply:honey, wear what you want to--it is your day to let your personality shine. i have been to weddings where everyone in the wedding party including the bride wore white converse high tops sneakers. they have adorable white flip flops (sort of platform, but not too high) for brides in case you didn't know. they say just married on the bottoms and have cute little wedding bells dangling from the toe part. is anyone really going to be looking at your shoes?! i only remember the dress.
Reply:Ballet flats, unless you are having a very informal, and almost beach like wedding. But just buy a nice pair of flats. It's in the trend.
Reply:Flip flops are only acceptable if your 16 and getting married on the beach as a joke.

First, the ballet slippers are a better choice however, there are shoes made special called, surprisingly, FLATS that are just for brides. They are low, comfy and can be dyed to match any color of dress for both the bride and the brides maids.

Second, the tuxedo shop can usually assist the groom with small lifts to assist him with this problem as they are used to handling these tiny issues (the shoes can be rented with the suit/tux). Have him tell them your height and if they are lacking in intelligence, go to Walmart and buy a couple of extra pair of heel cushions for his shoes for that day, get the shoes a half size larger.

For that matter, wear heels don't worry about it. Tom Cruise and Katie aren't worried about the foot between them.
Reply:I think that you should wear those hard slippers. Not house slippers, the ones you can buy at the shoe store like payless. They are really pretty and you can get them in different styles. i hope you make the right choice to wear on your wonderful wedding! :^)
