When am I to old to wear flip flops?

I am a guy, 48 and my daughter cringes when she sees me wear them or my crocks. I have been wearing flip flops in hot weather for 35 years and my Converse All-stars when it is cooler. She is ok with me wearing my "chucks' as they seem to be back in style, but she also wants me to wear them all the time. Have I reached a point where I am to old to be comfy when out in the sun? I even ride my motorcycle with them on, but my daughter also says I am too old to be riding on a Ninja, go figure.

When am I to old to wear flip flops?
Dude, as a father of an overly social conscience daughter, it is your duty to embarrass the hell out of her in front of her friends.

This is one of the better parts of being a parent. Start to mis quote all the new bands, call her friends "little" and "so cute" and most of all, bring out those bathtub photos to show to the boys that like her.

Remember to play your music too and tell her that the latest band she likes sucks in front of her girlfriends at a sleep over. These are the teen age years that don't mean much. Then show of your prom photos just before she goes off to her prom with her date! Oh so much fun!!! A good beer burp as you laugh and go "Hey! You can't have this!" is also a good one too!

If you do this right, she will be cut out from all the "cool" kids and not get in as much trouble as she would if she was invited to the right parties.

If she hates you for it, laugh it off, you are doing it right.
Reply:Sounds like you have a teen daughter.

She prob cringes constantly anyway.

Get a pair of Speedos or a thong...she'll BEG you to go back to the days when your wore flip-flops!

Oh and as to the flip-flops on a bike: If you're stupid enough to ride, go ahead and wear the flip-flops! Might as well. Just be sure you have good insurance to support your family while you lie in a coma, k?
Reply:Don't listen to her trying to make you an old fogey. She'll have you in Depends soon if you are not careful. LOL

I do not recommend wearing flip flops to ride a motorcycle.
Reply:hmmm

your not too old for

its disgusts me when i see a guy in flip flops o dont know why..

just dont wear it.

wear your converse.

but i dont think your too old to ride a motor cycle

do you daughter a favor and not wear flip flops.

hehe
Reply:Don't listen to her. You can wear whatever you want. Just because you're 48 doesn't mean you should have hot feet in the summer~! But, personally, I hate crocs. They are pretty ugly on ANYONE. They're your feet tho - wear what you like ;)
Reply:No ones to old for anything... just live life to the fullest!
Reply:your never too old for anything..if you can do it..you not too old
Reply:No, not at all. It's one thing is you dress younger then you are, but it's flip-flips, you can wear flip-flops if your 9 months or 99 years old. It's just a pair of shoes. . . . . .
Reply:Anyone can wear flipflops. I don't see a problem with an older guy wearing them. Why don't you try sandals too? Just to have another option. I don't like crocs though, they're pretty ugly in my opinion, but everyone wears converse as well, so I see no problem with it. Don't listen to her, sometimes teenagers create wierd complexes in their head about their parents lol.
Reply:How old is your daughter? It may be that she is going thru that difficult teen phase. The one where she thinks anything her parents do is just too, too embarrassing.

It's not that she really thinks that you're too far out of style. It's that she's afraid her friends will think she's weird because her parent does something different than their parents do.
Reply:Kids!!! tell her she better "behave baby" or else your going to ride your bike wearing a g string, 1 crock and the other foot with a chuck and a rose in your mouth!

HA HA HA! Kids... they think they know it all.

Continue to be yourself and the next time she wants makeup or hairspray tell her she's too young!
Reply:Well, as long as you feel OK about wearing them, then get those flip-flops on!!
