Has anyone had problems with Walmart flip-flops?

Hey all, I bought a pair of cheap flip flops and now have what appears to be chemical burns on my feet where the straps were...I have contacted the FDA, and they weren't much help, I contacted Walmart to alert them to the fact there might be a problem and they were SO rude I couldn't believe it. The picture of my feet was taken yesterday, 7-1-07 and I have had this for 10 days now, is there anyone else that has had any problems?

Has anyone had problems with Walmart flip-flops?
Wal-mart! It's probably some poison from China in the material. More then likely you are sensitive to the material they are made out of. Stop wearing them.
Reply:I saw the story from TPF and I will add that ever since I toured the shoes factory in China back in 2000, I have never touched a pair of Shoes "made in china" ever since! Like all their products, FOOD or NOT... they are CRAP! Report It

Reply:Think what kind of products will come out of a country that does not give VALUES to HUMANLIVES?

Money is above HUMAN LIVES of course!! What Quality can you talk about then from the Chinese? Report It

Reply:This is a horrible situation to be in. I feel that it is up to the manager's and or owner's of the company in which sale such products to insure safety of that particular product as well as any other product they decide to sale. Report It

Reply:For something like this to happen to a customer, it makes the company look bad...especially when they don't seem to care of the issue. Fact is you shouldn't sale something that you are unsure about whether or not it will become a bad product. What ever happen to the customer is always right? Report It

Reply:I feel that the company should be sued do to the non caring of the issue and because they sole a bad product, not to mention all of the pain physically that one have to endure; after being burned with this product. Report It

Reply:Also the mental emotional situation one has to go through, knowing that their feet look horrible; to the point of needing to hide them when out in public, because of what people may think such things like uuhhhmmmm she must have some type of disease of some sort. Report It

Reply:It does not matter if the product originally came from China(You didn't buy them in China; so that doesn't matter)...it had been sole to a world wide known company; Walmart. The company should have had the product tested before selling; Report It

Reply:that's bad business in which they have placed upon themselves in my opinion. A rash this serious can not be ignored....especially when it has effected so many other people; but even if it had been only one complaint that's still one complaint to many to ignor. Report It

Reply:This to me becomes a bigger issue than simply getting your money back from buying the shoes. You have endured pain and humiliation. I feel you should sue; that way it won't happen again, they'll make sure that it won't. Report It

Reply:I think that it is worth getting as much information about the issue as you can. This is to big to simply give up on; I still believe that when a company see something as a good sell. Report It

Reply:They should be able to guarantee no matter how cheap the product; that it will not harm the customer.....like the shoes in this matter did. Report It

Reply:That's just like buying a toy for your child, on a discount. If that toy injures that child one can sue, that's the law...so you as a company are responsible for selling the item as a result you could get sued. you're suppose to ensure safety...I wouldn't care if it were 2 cent. Report It

Reply:Its just like selling bad meat; yeah you could say that the person is simply allergic to red meat; yet they got food poison. So they will sue the company for selling it to them. There many reasons to why food poison could have been the result. Report It

Reply:Still will be seen as a bad product. Just because something is sold cheap does not mean it should not be guaranteed of no harm towards the buyer....it would be different if the item said may break you out or cause some irritation of the skin..but it didn't. Report It

Reply:All Wal Mart has anymore is CRAP! They are bec oming the new K-Mart and you know where they are now? Bankrupt, part of Sears, and they're barely making it. Report It

Reply:Ask a Dr; The first question they will often ask with ref to a localized skin allergy , is what did you come in contact with recently.

I Report It

Reply:If you had an extreme reaction, such as the flip flops you might be prescribed antihistamines and prescription topical cream such as PMS-Desonide. Going to a Doctor is key. Report It

Reply:I will be the first to say that this is no reaction to the rubber on the shoe i have the same thing she does and walmart needs to take responsability for this.....please dont anyone buys these shoes...they need to get them off the shelves before a child gets ahold of them Report It

Reply:wow. all those answers you received (prior to your website) were almost as helpful as the walmart employees. :( Report It

Reply:This looks awful! I will say it sounds like an allergy though, and not a manufacturer or Wal-Mart problem (no, I don't work for Wal-Mart). I wonder how many women have worn these same sandals and have had no reaction? Just trying to be the devil's advocate here. Report It

Reply:it's normal to see Walmart has this problem on quality, because they are killing prices on their vendors, Walmart always MUST make 45% on their profit, but they don't care if they suppliers are making profit at all. Walmart's buyers are greedy.... Report It

Reply:I love my cheap walmart sandals! I've never had any marks on my feet except for tan marks...you're probably allergic ...you have to look at other possibilities besides thinking it was the store you got it from...you probably thought they were rude because they didn't tell you what you wanted to hear..take the flip flops with you to the doctor and find out because 10 days is a lot unless you keep scratching making it worse.
Reply:you may have a reaction to the plastic/rubber that the flip flop is made of ?
Reply:no but walmart gave me herpes

just kidding
Reply:Whoa, it made your right foot bigger than the left...

And sorry, but you did say you bought them at WalMart... and you were expecting quality?

If the service staff at WalMart was less than friendly, speak to a manager and get your five bucks back.
Reply:you know it could be you.
Reply:Throw them away unless you can wear them with those little Japanese toe socks.

Thanks for this interesting item.
Reply:You are probably allergic to the material it is made of.
Reply:there a powder they make it with u might be alergic
Reply:it could be that you are allergic to something used to make the flip flop straps. maybe you should visit your doctor or a dermatologist.
