Would it be a bad idea to wear flip flops with my prom dress?

causei cant find the right shoes so i think i might go with flip flops my dress is a strapless sage colored dress it is a tiny tiny bit shorter than knee lenghtth and has a little bow on the side. thank you for all your help[ ahead of time!!

Would it be a bad idea to wear flip flops with my prom dress?
i would personally only wear flip flops if they were very dressy looking and the dress was long, but you may be able to pull it off with a short dress. i knew someone who wore dressy flip flops with a long prom dress and it actually looked cute... keep in mind she lived at the beach so it wasn't that uncommon.
Reply:I would not. you'll look great, then you'll get to your feet and it looks like you just kinda threw something on. I would go for heels.
Reply:Try to find some neutral color sandals in beige or gray. You could take flip flops along if you think you'd be more comfortable, but wear something dressier for formal pictures.
Reply:I dont recramend it. Try an open toed silver shoe. If you really want to wear flip flops get a pair that trap your big toe. Try looking in famous footwear. Or...

i really hope these help! email if you need anymore assistance
Reply:Not unless they have heels and even then you probably shouldn't. But if you just want to be comfortable then you should.
Reply:I think that would be really cute. I don't think there's any reason to take the whole prom thing too seriously. If you want to wear flip flops and you think it's cute, go for it. Have fun!

P.S. Whatever you do, please do not listen to these people telling you to wear black heels with a sage dress, yuck!
Reply:If you could find some that are a little bit decorative and that match, I don't see why not. They make a lot of sandals now that look like flip flops but with heals. That could also be an idea. If you do wear them, at least your feet won't bother you.
Reply:OMG NO!! find something else, dont do that tho
Reply:no because high heels are uncomfortable so i am all for the idea of wearing flip flops with a prom dress
Reply:I feel that it would be acceptable ......if the gown were floor length, and you couldn't see your feet. However, yours is not floor length. I highly recommend shoes.
Reply:DON'T EVEN!!! Flip flops w/ prom dress??? Ha, that does not match! Get either black or white flats or heels. Black or white goes w/ anything other color. =]
Reply:kitten heel flip flops
Reply:Wear maybe a nicer pair of flips flops than regular flip flops. Maybe some with flare and sparkle.
Reply:i dont think it would be a bad idea most girls lose the shoes after pictures anyways so go for it
Reply:well, it IS prom, and you should look like you put effort into your outfit, buuuut since it's short, strappless, and sage colored, you might be able to pull off a simple shoe option. however, if you go too overboard with hair, nails, makeup and jewelry, those shoes will look totally out of place!! hope i'm somewhat helpful!!:)
Reply:THAT'S HORRiBLE!! prom is an elegant occasion NOT casual.
Reply:WEAR THEM! I wore heels my junior prom and took them off within five minutes. Senior year my friends and I all wore flip flops and we were soooo comfortable. My dress covered my shoes, but since yours would be showing it's all up to you. Honestly, I don't see a problem with it. It's your prom and you should be comfortable. And in 10 years you won't be worried about what shoes you wore, you'll be remembering the fun time you had with your friends :) Have a great time!
Reply:i wore flip flops with both proms i went to last year, its soo much more comfortable and beats walking around bare foot when its time to throw the heels under the table, but make sure they match the dress and are cute, not just plain one for liek old navy.
Reply:Yes that is real bad.........very unlady like
Reply:no you should go and find some nice sandels like go to payless.com and they have some nice sandels that would match your dress
Reply:eeeeewwww wear heels!!!
Reply:ummm sure if their cute mathcing flip flops
Reply:yea! that would be sooo cute! you can find really cute flops at old navy too! you'll be a lot more comfortable in flip flops than in heels anyway. Have fun at prom!!!! :)
Reply:yeah, totally bad idea, if the dress was long enough to cover them, maybe then, but if its a short dress don't even try!
Reply:umm...

excellent

but make sure it matches

or else...it wouldnt look that great

and i m sure you may have black flip flops

wear those

and wear the cutess flip flops you have

thanks
Reply:No I'm sorry but no.......!!!!!!!
Reply:Hey, it's YOUR prom. But one question, will the school allow that? I'm sure you could find some cute strappy heels that would go with your dress. I love the sound of your dress, it sounds totaly cute! Pink strappy heels and some kind of pink jewelry would look good...accent your dress with different color of heels. Have fun at your prom.
Reply:I say go for it! I love flip flops!! Havaianas come in all colors and sizes and you can even buy them with swarovski crystals on them. Ebay has lots of cute ones. Good luck and have a geat time at the prom!!!
Reply:If your prom dress is sage and strapless - then look for some flats. Flip flops are only for showering or the beach.
Reply:Dont even think about girl friend! Just kidding! its your prom and you can wear anything you want. Make sure you are comfortable! I personally wouldn't wear them, but thats just me. It is totally up to you and i hope you have a great time at prom! By the way, your dress sounds really nice! Good luck, have fun! :)
Reply:I think it would depend on the flip flop. They do make some pretty ones now if I did I would wear one with alittle bit of a wedge or heel.
