Old Navy charges more for 1 pr men's flip flops and 1 pair women's flip flop why not 2 for $5.00?

How come two for five dollar flip flops are not two for five if you buy a women's pair and a men's pair?

2-for deals are not valid across departments at Old Navy. An item in the men's department and an item in the women's department could be "the same" (for example, flip flops), but the style numbers are different and the register systems are not set up to properly to recognize products as "the same" when they are indeed different based on that barcode number.

It works the same way for all of the other merchandise - for example, if women's ribbed tanks are 2 for $15, and men's tanks are 2 for $15, you must purchase 2 of the same item (2 womens or 2 mens) in order to receive the discounted price.

For the flip flops, 1 pair is $3.50 and 2 or more pairs are $2.50/each. Therefore 1 pair of men's is $3.50 and 1 pair of women's is $3.50. Some managers just want the merchandise to sell, so if you were to ask the cashier for the manager's permission to override the price if you're purchasing one of each, they may accomodate you.
Reply:I have never noticed?!? Mens and womens are different syle, that is all I can think of.

Reply:they aren't? i never knew that. well they are so cheap so just get 2 mens and 2 womens.
