Is it okay to take the drivers test in flip flops?

Asked before but needed more answers. Would it be ok to wear flip flops since I learned how to drive with them on and am having trouble driving with my tennis shoes.





Would it be okay to wear the flip flop (bring tennis shoes with me) and ask the tester when he comes to the car if it okay or would that be part of test and him take points off?

Is it okay to take the drivers test in flip flops?
I can't drive in shoes - ever since I started driving I felt it really uncomfortable driving in shoes!! ANd I feel uncomfortable driving hugging the steering wheel so to speak!!





But think of it this way - you have to drive with enclosed shoes on for 15 minutes - you have to drive liek a nerd hugging the steering wheel for 15 mintes...





THEN ! For the rest of your life you can drive with no shoes if you want and my fav - I don't have to hug the steering wheel!!

Reply:I would call them and ask what the laws are for driving in flip flops.Or you could be more specific and ask them straight forward if you would be at risk of losing points for wearing flip flops.
Reply:Why would you want to take the test in flip flops? It could end up being dangerous and the driving instructor might even be scared to get in the car with you.
Reply:There's no law anywhere in the US against driving barefoot or with flip flops.





I'd wear the flip flops if that makes you happy. Although, AAA and many driving schools will tell you it's safer to drive barefoot than with flip flops/backless shoes/ high heels on.





If you don't believe me about the driving barefoot being legal, simply do a Yahoo search and you'll see it is an urban myth about it being illegal.
Reply:it depends on where you live. in california you can wear flip flops when you drive. but if it means risking getting your driver's license, i would definitely check it out before you take the test :]
Reply:I would ask the instructor if it's okay to wear them. I'd bring a pair of shoes thought just in case.
Reply:No, do not wear flip flops to take your driving test.... wear some kind of shoes.... the tester will get mad if he sees you wearing flip flops.
