Im a 16 year old guy, can i wear flip flops w/out being gay and are rainbows gay 4 guys?

can i wear flip flops w/ out being gay? what brands/types? r rainbows 4 gay guys? if u want u can pick out a whole outfit 4 me 4 summer incl. shorts, shirts, flip flops, etc. thnx 4 all ur help!!

Reply:Personally, I see nothing wrong with wearing flip flops regardless of orientation, its a matter of personal preference. Now with that said, there is the matter of perception by others. Those that know you won't care, those that don't may make a snap judgement and lable you in their minds. If you don't care what strangers think, wear whats comfortable for you.





As far as rainbows, I see nothing wrong with rainbows... before gay pride, etc., Robin Williams was wearing rainbow suspenders as Mork on "Mork and Mindy", Mork was definately into Mindy so no homosexual thing there... the 80's were full of bright rainbow colors on everyone and everywhere.





Aging rainbow colors or flip-flops it a matter of personal style, just combined rainbows and unicorns or ponies... that will definately send a mixed message.
Reply:Flip-flops aren't gay unless you are wearing women's flip-flops. They obviously sell men's flip-flops so why not wear them if it's what you want. The whole rainbow thing is gay though, and I have nothing against gay people, I'm just giving you advice to not wear rainbows if you wanna maintain the straight image. Rainbows symbolize homosexuality so that's the last thing you want to wear. As for shirts and shorts, just keep them loose-- not too baggy, but definitely not too tight. Make sure the shorts are not too short as well, like no less than an inch below the knee.
Reply:im guessing you're not from Australia, all the guys wear here all year around is flip flops. So in my oppinion it doesnt make you gay, and if you are from anywhere that flipflops on guys is considered weird, you can say you're cultured?

Reply:Alex, wear whatever you want, as long as you are comfortable. Obviously there are times when you need to dress up for formal/semi formal occasions, but other times, suit yourself.


What you choose to wear (as long as no laws are broken in any way) is entirely up you. if other people don't like it then it's their problem. You are entitled to wear what you want, and what you feel comfortable in.

Reply:Clothes do not make a person gay. I have seen plenty of Macho men wear flip flops, of course this was at the beach or some sort of BBQ or what ever, but hey prove that you are straight and go out there and wear what ever the H*LL you want it is supposed to be a free country.

Reply:um as long as they're not rubber flip flops and keep your feet groomed. for a 16 yr. old why don't you go into American Eagle and have a girl working there scope you out an outfit. and rainbows are used in the gay community but they don't mean gay to me.

As far as rainbows go, if its an ACTUAL rainbow, yeah that's probably going to throw a few people off. but if it's just COLORFUL, then it's all in how you wear it.

Reply:I think you can wear flip flops as long it is not a rainbow style. I know some flip flops that have a color of navy blue and black. The brand is called havaianas. Try finding it at the mall.
